Beeper
In response to Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, these kits serve as both a tool and toy to aid children through the process of recovery, provide activities to express their mental state, and provide comfort within a highly turbulent time of rapid change and loss. What was produced was a series of objects-”mood markers”, interactive packaging with customizable “drivers” and “mood stickers”.
Method Development
Design-wise, through the feedback of a psychologist and surveys through every step of design planning and production, color and form were investigated in-depth to ensure trauma will not be exacerbated. A sliding box decorated as a Jeepney due to its symbol within the culture and recognizability is developed to contain the markers, stickers and other components of the catharsis kit.

Usage
The kit is intended to be played with and enjoyed to both entertain and help process. ”Mood markers”, interactive packaging with customizable “drivers” and “mood stickers”- can be used by children to externalize their experiences and emotions in a safe manner.
Small cards were developed for parents to spread awareness of the symptoms and signs of Post-traumatic stress disorder. When we hear about calamities we often think instinctually of physical injures. This project was inspired by an emergency medical kit but designed for psychological wellness. It was aimed towards the group often left unheard but equally or more affected by times of disaster. Design innovation is used to handle complex issues and target users whose needs or state may be ignored unintentionally.
Content Development
An open envelope-style “pocket” where “drivers” can be interchanged along the front through sliding slips of pre-prepared assets and customizable strips.
Customizable “Drivers”
These special pre-made sliders, can be slipped into the front of the jeep (through the pocket) as children choose and create their own “drivers” based on their mood and mental state. Customizable blank assets are also included for children to decorate.
Markers, Cards and Stickers
Markers and stickers were made to decorate the jeepney and for usage by children to express their emotions. Cards are used as a checklist for evaluation or diagnosis.
